Brook Cecilia Cheuvront, 20, of Newland, went hiking on Saturday at Devil's Peak in Western Cape, according to News24 of South Africa.

Brook Cecilia Cheuvront, 20, of Newland, was reported missing Saturday after she left around noon for a hike on Table Mountain in Cape Town.

A graduate of Avery County High, and current student at UNC-Chapel Hill, was found deceased in South Africa on Sunday after she had gone missing.
