Upwards of 450,000 SUV and pickup trucks are subject to a recall by General Motors due to a faulty electronic brake control module that may potentially fail to warn drivers when there is a loss of brake fluid.

Recalled vehicles include recent models of the Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Silverado, Chevy Suburban, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon.

General Motors (NYSE:GM) is conducting a noncompliance recall of nearly 450,000 of its vehicles after identifying an issue with its brake fluid indicator systems. An assessment from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that certain GM vehicles could be at a high risk of a crash in the event of a brake fluid leak,

GM told regulators that indicators may not warn drivers of low brake fluid, which raises the risk of a crash. Some 449,671 vehicles are affected.
