The New England Patriots are maintaining the “status quo” at the quarterback position, Jerod Mayo says. The morning after his team pulled Jacoby Brissett for rookie Drake Maye in garbage time, Mayo said that nothing has changed in regards to Brissett’s status as the starter.

The Patriots gave Drake Maye his first NFL playing time late in Thursday's 24-3 loss to the Jets and that meant head coach Jerod Mayo fielded questions about turning the offense over to the rookie quarterback on a full-time basis.

Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett never got anything going on offense against the Jets on Thursday and his time as the starter might already be over.
